When making hotel reservations, please note that symposium sessions begin on Thursday, August 9 at noon. We recommend that you arrive in Cambridge and check-in to your accomodations by August 8 is recommended. The Charles Hotel As of July 11, 2012 our room block, and indeed all "regular" rooms at the Charles Hotel, are booked. Other options This google map shows the Charles Hotel and the symposium venue (Wasserstein Casperson Clinical aka WCC). As you look for options, consider adding the addresses of potential hotels to this map by clicking "add destination". This will allow you to see where a given hotel is in relation to the main symposium sites. Finding Roommates To reduce costs of symposium attendance, some may wish to share hotel rooms. Finding someone with whom to share a hotel room is the responsibility of the individual attendee. If you are interested in sharing a hotel room, please use CrowdVine to do so. After registering for AHS12, simply head to CrowdVine, create an account and within 48 hours, your account will be approved. What if I have to cancel my hotel reservation at the Charles Hotel? You won't be charged for cancelling your reservation if you cancel 48 hours (or more) in advance of your arrival. If the reservation is cancelled within 48 hours of your arrival, one night's room and tax charges will be billed to your credit card. If the reservation is not cancelled but you fail to check-in, the room will be released and your card will be charged one night's room and tax. Please contact the Charles Hotel directly regarding room changes or cancellations. For Reference Only As the Charles is booked, the following is left up for reference only: Reservations must be booked by July 12, 2012 but it's very likely that all of the rooms in our block will be booked prior to that We have secured a rate of $209 (plus taxes) per night at the beautiful Charles Hotel. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk to Wasserstein Casperson Clinical, where AHS 2012 will take place. Saturday night's Barefoot Banquet will also be held at the hotel. As AHS is under contract for the room block reserved, please book your accommodations at the Charles Hotel referencing the Ancestral Health Symposium and code ANCESTRALHEALTH2012 (instructions below). In the unlikely event the block requirements are not met, the Society has to pay the difference between the contract guarantee and the actual bookings. So why might someone be told no rooms are available? Our room block includes August 8-11 only. [There is a workaround; please continue reading.] If one attempts to book a room for check-in prior to the 8th or for check-out after the 11th, the Charles Hotel's computer system indicates that no rooms are available simply because those dates fall outside our block. Instructions follow for those who would like to stay at the Charles Hotel at the conference rate while securing an earlier check-in or later departure.
